SUPPORT FOR THE 2020 WORLD TEACHERS DAY CELEBRATION HOLDEN AT QUEEN'S COLLEGE YABA ON 5 TH OCTOBER 2020

The World Teachers Day is celebrated every year on the 5 th October 2020 to commemorate the anniversary of the adoption of the 1966 ILO/UNESCO Recommendations concerning the status of teachers. Recognizing teachers, our unsung heroes, is indeed very critical to achieving the 2030 education agenda of the UN and the theme for this year's WTD: Leading in Crisis, Reimagining the Future couldn't be more appropriate.

Our teachers have had to endure much sacrifices against the backdrop of the COVID-19 to ensure that the educational aspirations of our wards and children are not grinded to a halt courtesy of the coronavirus. The Oladele Fajemirokun Foundation, having previously shown commitment towards improving access to quality education through the provision of interactive boards and mechanized sanitation machines ahead of the WAEC Exams at Queen's College, supported the World Teachers Day with gifts of 270 electric kettles. The Foundation further pledged to nurture its relationship with the school and make the subsequent World Teachers Day much more remarkable.
